Little Rock Central High School

Event Details

Free registration here. (Required due to limited seating.)

President Bill Clinton will deliver the keynote address at the Commemoration Ceremony. This observance will be the culmination of the weekend’s activities as it marks the 60th anniversary of the Little Rock Nine entering Little Rock Central High School. In addition, the eight living members of the Little Rock Nine will share their perspective of events.

Other participants include Harvard University’s Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr., Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Cameron Sholly of the National Park Service, Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola, City Manager Bruce T. Moore, Central High Principal Nancy Rousseau, the 2017-2018 student body presidents of Little Rock School District’s high schools, and the Philander Smith College Choir.

Because the auditorium is at capacity for the Commemoration Ceremony, extra seating is being made available for overflow inside the Matthews Gymnasium at Little Rock Central High School.

Large monitors will be set up there to allow audience members to view the event while still being on the Little Rock Central High campus.

Parking will be at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds, with shuttle transportation between the fairgrounds and the Little Rock Central High campus.
